THE DORADA DORADA

From green to dark green to phosphorescent blue spotted white, it is a magnificent fish. The male (called goat) is distinguished by a square head, while the females have a rounded head. It weighs from 2kg to 30kg and can measure 2m in length.        

They live mainly near the surface and feed on squid, trevally and tuna.

Depending on the size of the subjects, it is fished either with fixed drum rods of 20lbs to 30lbs or with 50lbs rotating drum rods.              

It is fished by heavy trolling, slow trolling, lure, live or dead fish and poper. She is very combative and very often jumps out of the water making spectacular seals.
